Hanright to run for Town Clerk

Stoneham Board of Assessor Chairman John Hanright has announced that he will be a candidate to replace Town Clerk Annamae Arsenault, who announced earlier this year that she will be retiring at the end of her term in April.
"I've always had interest in the position because I believe my extensive work experience in record administration, budgeting and management in the public and private industry combined with an earnest desire to serve the community of Stoneham give me the necessary qualifications to do an excellent job," said Hanright.
Hanright has been elected to the Board of Assessors for eight consecutive terms and, in addition to his current chairmanship, he has also served many years as secretary.
As a member of the Board of Assessors, he has made policy decisions on valuation of property as well as appeals of valuation and overseen the hearing process for taxpayers as required by the statutes of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
"My work as an Assessor has given me the opportunity to participate in actions that require fairness to individuals with hardships and responsible fiscal decisions for the town," said Hanright, a life-long Stonehamite who resides on Elm Street with his wife, Janie, and his son, John.
Hanright's present employment is in the service industry as an account executive for a major heating and air conditioning company with the responsibility of sales and marketing, customer service and quality control for over 2,000 national retail chain stores in the New England and MidAtlantic areas.
His civic service to the town includes being a past member of the Stoneham Retirement System, chairman of the original Stoneham Square Revitalization Committee and a director of the Stoneham Little League. Hanright was a past director of the Catholic Charitable Bureau of Lynn which includes the Stoneham area. He is also a U.S. Army veteran serving from l966-l968.
Hanright is inviting anyone that would like to be a part of his campaign to call him at 438-59l3.
