STONEHAM, MA - Luck in Stoneham comes in bunches.
For the fourth time in less than a half-dozen years, the state lottery and this town have combined to produce a big winners in back-to-back weeks.
Past winners in Stoneham may have been seven figure prizes, but the latest winners on the lottery's Bonus Bonanza television show are nothing to sneeze at.
Last week, a Stoneham woman had her name drawn during the Bonus Bonanza show on channel 5 for a $50,000 prize and a cruise for two. This past Saturday, Stoneham's Linda McClory appeared on the show and walked away with $30,000.
McClory, 50, of Greenview Road, was one of three contestants which are chosen each week from the 27 members of the studio audience. The audience is comprised of people, who each week have their name drawn after submitting losing scratch tickets along with an entry form. According to lottery officials, the odds are 1 in 4,000 that eligible applicants will be asked to be in the audience.
McClory played a game entitled, "Free Fall" and when she reached the $30,000 prize level she decided to stop rather than risk a portion of her winnings to continue.
McClory was unable to add to her winnings in the show's final game against the two other contestants.
