STONEHAM, MA - Frances Konopacka, 77, was struck by a car in front of her 65 Pleasant St. home at 5 p.m. on Jan. 2.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Konopacka was in critical condition at Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
Martha Duck, 65, of 100 Cedar St. in Waltham was driving the 1990 Tercell which struck Konopacka. Duck was heading south on Pleasant St. Her car stopped 45 feet after contact, according to the police report, and Konopacka was thrown the same distance.
According to the report, Duck was not speeding, and she has not been cited. Konopacka was in the road when Duck's car hit her.
Chief Eugene Passaro said Konopacka was taking packages from the trunk of a car in her driveway and may have accidentally stepped back into the street, into the path of Duck's Toyota.
Also, according to the report, the road was wet, and it was dark out at the time of the accident. The case is still under investigation by Stoneham Police.
