New Bickford's
The Board of Selectmen awarded a common victualler license to Bickford's Family Restaurant, which will soon occupy 163 Main Street, the site soon to be vacated by the International House of Pancakes. The license was granted unanimously on Tuesday for the requested operating hours of 6 a.m. to 12 midnight Sunday through Thursday and 6 a.m. through 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
MediaOne response
MediaOne has acknowledged its shortcomings with regard to Board of Selectmen cable coverage and, in a letter to Town Council William Solomon has committed, in part, to the following: obtain a schedule of meeting coverage in advance; set up and test equipment at meeting site by 11 a.m. on the day of the meeting; in the event that technical problems prevent live coverage, notify viewers via bulletin board message with dates and times of playback.
Zoo sewer debt
The town has received from Zoo New England (Stone Zoo) a check in the amount of $47,000 for past sewer charges.
