STONEHAM, MA - At the May 1 Annual Town Meeting townspeople get to toss their two cents at the town's $43.7 million.
The town is paying for coffee and cookies.
Twenty-five articles, including the overall town budget and big-ticket items, such as the Public Works garage reconstruction and technology funding for the schools, are on the table.
The Finance and Advisory Board has prepared a free book detailing the articles and their financial implications. The book will be available the week before the meeting at the following locations: Dairy Dome, Public Library, Highland Printing, Stoneham Independent, Chamber of Commerce, Senior Center, Marble Street Deli, Blue Parrot, Town Clerk's Office.
"People should take a look at the book and get in touch with us before the meeting with any questions," said Finance Board Chairman Richard Gregorio.
The Town Meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium on Monday May 1, 2000.
