Parade float entry deadline is Sept. 7
Published on August 16th, 2000
Stoneham, MA - As the summer continues its march toward September, the Parade 2000 committee is finalizing its participant list started nearly two years ago.
Parade 2000 is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 17, and has an enthusiastic roster lined up, with something for all ages.
The deadline for entries, however, is fast approaching and for anybody looking to be part of this millennium celebration, the last day to enter floats is Sept. 7.
To enter, send a letter to Parade co-chairman John Hanright at the Town Clerk's Office at the Town Hall and specify the number of people expected to ride the float. The committee must have something in writing from all interested participants.
In addition, donations to fund the event are still being accepted and are greatly needed since the committee has been working hard to bring the best acts to Stoneham for what is stacking up to be the grandest parade yet.
T-shirts, sweatshirts, millennium buttons and raffle tickets are on sale throughout town, including the Town Clerk's Office and StonehamBank, and proceeds go directly toward offsetting the cost of Parade 2000.
The parade begins at 1 p.m. and will march the length of Main Street, from Redstone to Friendly's. Gather your friends and families and come out to support Parade 2000.
