STONEHAM, MA - It sounds like a Sherlock Holmes enigma: He had a bullet hole in his head, but that's not what killed him.

Answering questions surrounding the death of Jamie Kenney, 28, of Stoneham won't be elementary for the State Police suspicious death unit.

The DA's Office offered just the facts: Kenney's body was found Wednesday, Sept. 13, around 1 p.m. in unit 18c of the Monterosa Condominiums at 159 Main Street by the complex manager. Kenney had been dead for two or more days. There were no signs of forced entry. A gunshot wound on Kenney's head was determined by the medical examiner to be from an earlier incident. The cops don't know how Kenney died.

Kenney used the alias Damien Suchma at the Monterosa condos.

Facts segue to hunches with State Police Lt. Greg Foley's statement, in a Boston Herald interview, that Kenney "had Mob ties."

The autopsy was "inconclusive about the cause and manner of death," according to DA spokesman Anson Kaye.

Further toxicology studies are planned in hopes of removing the mystery surrounding this "suspicious death."

The apartment manager who found the body would not comment.

Selectmen Chairman Pat Jordan said Kenney's death was a powerful argument for putting more cops on the street.

"I've lived here my whole life, and I cannot remember a mob hit in Stoneham," Jordan said.
