STONEHAM, MA -
• Stoneham Parents For Healthy Schools will be at the Nov. 14, 2000, Selectmen's meeting to hear a presentation from the School Building Committee on the progress of the new Central School.
The Building Committee will address the levels of arsenic still in the soil behind the school and future clean-up.
• Due to the overwhelming response at the Nov. 6 flu clinic held at the Senior Center, the Board of Health flu vaccine supply has been depleted, and the remaining flu clinics have been cancelled.
The Board of Health will reschedule clinics as soon as the second shipment of vaccine arrives; it is expected in late November or early December.

• At the Crystal Ball at Montvale Plaza on Nov. 4, Chamber of Commerce President Michael Zizza recognized active members of the Stoneham business community.
Alan Melkonian of Stoneham Ford was named Citizen of the Year for his generous support of the community. He donates to many local charities. Folks might remember most recently, and vividly, the string of Mustangs in the Millennium Parade on loan from Stoneham Ford.
Al Symes received the Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year Award for his work bringing the Stoneham Theatre back to life.
Linda Corapi of Gardens Galore took home the Rookie Member of the Year Award.
The event ran smoothly as usual under the direction of Chamber Executive Director Sharon Iovanni.
• The Metropolitan District Commission is working with the state to clean-up an oil spill on MDC land at 164 Pond Street.
