STONEHAM , MA -
• Build it and they will skate
The town has built an outdoor ice skating rink on the East School field.
It’s free, and it’s fun, Selectman Darin Leahy reports. All Stonehamites and friends are invited to come down and have some good old-fashioned fun this winter season.
School Superintendent Joe Connelly said East School neighbors organized the project.
• Donovan case
Both sides are optimistic about an impending settlement.
A daylong mediation session last Thursday before U.S. District Court Judge David Mazzone may have resolved the case.
The Independent will report on the details as soon as any settlement is reached.
• Wrongful death
The family of murder victim Linda Goudey has announced plans to bring a civil wrongful death suit against Timothy Stryker.
Stryker is a medical doctor with an office at 106 Main Street in Stoneham. He was never charged nor tried in relation to Goudey’s death.
Goudey was killed in the parking lot of the former Boston Regional Medical Center in 1993.
