Postman arrested for dealing drugs

WAKEFIELD, MA - A 38 year-old postal carrier was arrested on an array of drug charges, after allegedly selling marijuana from his mail truck. Joseph Dandreo, of 7 Windsor Avenue in Stoneham was reportedly the subject of an investigation for several months and is currently facing federal charges. Surveillance efforts have reportedly captured drug distribution related activities on video, thus aiding in the case. Police say Dandreo was captured yesterday, as he traveled home from a United States Post Office branch. He was apprehended in a driveway at approximately 4:15 p.m. A search warrant was then executed by authorities, who searched the suspect's home. One investigator reported a small amount of cash and a substance believed to be marijuana was discovered inside the residence. Several agencies have been involved in this case, including the Drug Enforcement Agency, Stoneham and Wakefield Police and the Postal Inspector. Dandreo is being federally charged in this case. Notably, the suspect is also expected to face charges of drug distribution in the vicinity of a school.
