Sweeney golfs to support Mass Special Olympics

STONEHAM, MA- For the fifth year in a row, Bob Sweeney of Pleasant Street will golf 100 holes to raise money for the Massachusetts Special Olympics.
“Every year I get pledges from the same loyal supporters,” Sweeney said. “I hope I can hear some new voices calling to pledge this year.”
Sweeney’s goal is to raise $3,000. “No pledge is too big or too small,” he said.

Sweeney will be one of 40 golfers playing the marathon round for the Massachusetts Special Olympics on Aug 7. at Stow Acres Country Club in Stow, Mass. The club donates the course for the fund raiser. The golfers begin at 6 a.m. and battle the links until around 4 p.m.
Sweeney has volunteered his time to the Special Olympics for years, playing softball with his younger brother Patrick.
