STONEHAM, MA- Cable corporation change
After serving two years as the Cable Advisory Committee Chairman and later as the Public Access Corporation President, Paul Means of William Street resigned.
In his recent letter to Selectmen Means said that his work responsibilities in Boston made it impossible for him to do all that must be done for Stoneham public access cable.
Means listed the many challenges facing the public access corporation: “Working with a consultant, the corporation needs to scope out an operating budget and a capital budget, lease space for a studio, negotiate an agreement with the town, and set policies for future programming on the three local cable channels.”
He recommended “a leader who is available in the day in Stoneham to carry out this time consuming agenda.”
Spot Pond Committee
Spot Pond Committee Chairman Stephen Sylvester recently informed Selectmen about his committee’s membership.
Sylvester wants another two-year term. Stephen Born, Val Iula and Mary Sullivan Smith have requested another single-year term. And Marc Grimaldi, Charles Houghton, Nick Capuano, Rosemary Geary and Peter Gilligan have said asked to step down.
Sylvester has asked Selectmen to consider appointing three new members to form a seven-member committee.
