WOBURN, MA - An assistant manager of McDonald's on Montvale Avenue in East Woburn was arrested early Saturday morning after he reportedly threatened a carload of customers with a handgun.

McDonald's is located just off I-93 near the Stoneham line.

Sylvio J. Philemond, 27, Milton, was charged with three counts of assault by a dangerous weapon and carrying a gun in violation of a firearm license restriction.

The victim s, an 18-yearold man from Woburn, an 18-year-old woman from Woburn and a 23-year-old Lynn man, came to police headquarters and reported the suspect walked up to their car, a Honda, in the drive-through lane, removed a black handgun from his waistband and told them to leave.

The suspect did not point the gun at the victims, police said.

Interviewed by police, the suspect said the victims used "vulgar language" toward him when they were told the items they wanted to order were not available.

He also at first denied exiting the restaurant and said the driver of the Honda pointed a gun at him in drive-through window.

The suspect later changed his story, reportedly admitting he did in fact leave the building. A search of the Honda uncovered no weapon.

Philemond was released on $100 bail, pending an appearance today in Woburn District Court.

Officers Ralph Coakley, David Magee, Robert Friberg and Sgt. Robert Giannotti investigated at 1:44 a.m. on Saturday.
