Tisei is in the running for Lt. Governor

STONEHAM, MA - Governor Swift’s Chief of Staff Patrick Guerriero confirmed that State Senator Richard Tisei (R-3rd Middlesex) is on Swift’s list of potential lieutenant governors.
“Senator Tisei is one of the bright stars in the Legislature, a proven vote-getter, proven fund-raiser and dignified in public service,” Guerriero said.
The governor and lieutenant governor do not run on the same ticket, but since the Weld/Cellucci victory of 1990, the two candidates usually run and raise money together. And Swift has asked Republican activist Marty Linsky to scout for some hopefuls.
Guerriero said the decision should come soon: “By the new year or sooner.”
The latest news on the lieutenant governorship is that James Rappaport, a multi-millionaire and former candidate for the U.S. Senate, is angling his way into the race by dangling the prospect of private wealth.
