Housing units proposed for Central Square

STONEHAM, MA - The Cahills, owners of McDonough’s Liquors, and Harry Paicopolos, owner of Highland Printing, are going before the Board of Appeals on Dec. 20 to request variances allowing them to put more than five units of housing in the space above their respective Stoneham Square businesses.
Attorney Charlie Houghton is representing both parties.
“First we will need a variance, then a special permit for parking, then a site plan,” Houghton said. “It will take awhile, but it’s the beginning of a revitalization effort.”
