Property tax rates set

STONEHAM, MA - Stoneham’s property tax rates for 2002 are $16.21 per $1,000 of taxable residential property and $18.56 per $1,000 of taxable commercial property.
As of July 2001, the total value of property in Stoneham was $1,728,516,639 — broken down into $1,465,037,579 residential and $263,479,060 commercial.
The Board of Assessors voted to distribute 112 percent of the tax burden to residential property owners as the Board has done for the past several years.
The 2001 rates were 15.38 residential and 17.60 commercial.
