STONEHAM, MA - Town Meeting dates
Selectmen opened a March 4 Special Town Meeting warrant on Jan. 8. The warrant will close on Jan. 18.
Selectmen also said they will open the warrant for the May 6 Annual Town Meeting on Jan. 23 and close it on Feb. 25.
Central School ceremony
The Stoneham School Committee and School Building Committee have sent invitations to the dedication of the new Central School on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Pomeworth Street school at 10 a.m. The ceremony will include formally naming the school library in memory of longtime teacher and historian Joanne Harriman.
The school will be open to the public from 11a.m. to 1p.m.
Three in one
Cafe Asiana at 147 Main St. is in business. The owners presented a site plan with 831 square feet at the Jan. 8 Selectmen’s meeting. The Board had asked the owners to show at least 750 square feet to qualify for a liquor license under a recently promulgated regulation.
Asiana owners complied, and Selectmen approved the site plan and granted a liquor license and a food license all at the Jan. 8 meeting.
