Middle School boys on drugs at ‘Cop Hop’ dance

STONEHAM, MA - A group of boys showed up wasted to the Community Police Unit's "Cop Hop" dance on Friday, May 3.As a result, around five male students of the Stoneham Middle School were suspended from school for drug possession and use.
Police, who were already at the scene as hosts, say these students may also be responsible for vandalism at the new Central School. Windows at the Pomeworth School were broken the night of the dance.
A member of the Middle School staff had to chase the boy allegedly dealing the drugs from the Central Street school property.
No arrests were made. Parents were called to pick up their children, who some kids described as having "no legs." No injuries have been reported. Police are investigating, and the School Committee may comment on the matter at their May 9 meeting at Town Hall, before Town Meeting.
