STONEHAM, MA - Jennifer Piggott jumped off the roof of 50 Wright St. to escape Stoneham Police.

According to Stoneham Police sources, Piggott broke both her ankles, both her wrists and her pelvis in the three-story fall around 3:15 p.m. on Memorial Day. She was treated at Lahey Clinic.

Stoneham Police responded to a call from Tim Shea at 50 Wright St. at 3:12 p.m. on May 27. Shea said a woman just attacked his wife, Phyllis, according to the police log. When Police arrived at the scene, they learned that the woman who allegedly assaulted Ms. Shea also allegedly stole Ms. Shea’s pocketbook several days earlier.

The woman is identified in the police log as Jennifer Piggott. The log also says Piggott told the Sheas that she hadn’t stolen the pocketbook and that she wanted to see her boyfriend, who she believed was in the house.

The Sheas told Police that Piggott was still in the house at 50 Wright St. Officer Tony Kranefuss entered while other officers remained outside around the house.

Somehow Piggott got on the roof. Then, according to Police sources, she jumped off in an attempt to escape. Stoneham firefighters, who were on a nearby call, responded for medical care.

Police handcuffed a man at the scene. He was not identified in the log, nor was there any mention of an arrest, although officers at the scene told Independent photographer Bill Ryerson that they were arresting the man for being drunk and disorderly and would sort things out later.

The rest of the story will follow after the Stoneham Police sort things out.
