STONEHAM, MA - Amy Brough, Stoneham Cable Access Corp.'s new Executive Director, officially worked her first day this past Monday and commented on her new position.

"I'm so excited about going to Stoneham and for the opportunity to pretty much work for a start-up organization...to start it from the ground up," remarked Brough.

"I'm excited to help people bring their ideas to television. We're going to help people know who we are, and to let people know that we're a different organization," added Brough, stressing that Stoneham residents will have many opportunities that they didn't have under the last cable access provider to create television programming.

Brough, who received a B.S. in communications from Mass College of Liberal Arts in North Adams and a Master's Degree in broadcasting from Emerson College, started her career for Wilmington Community Television as a Production Coordinator. She most recently worked for Reading Community Television as its Executive Director.

Speaking on her vision for SCA, Brough listed the following five goals as her top priorities:

  1. Find a permanent home for the corporation television studio.

  2. Allocate both advanced digital equipment and user-friendly equipment for residents unfamiliar with creating television programs.

  3. Network with the town's various organizations and groups and get them into the studio to create their television programs.

  4. Keep the organization properly staffed so that people continue to get excited about bringing their ideas to television.
