Stoneham Police and State Police officials are looking for clues related to a stabbing that took place early Thursday morning, and ended with the injured party dumped in the Stone Zoo parking lot.

According to the Stoneham Police report, an 18-year-old Charlestown man was found in the zoo parking lot by police and medical officials with a slashing laceration of his neck from "ear-to-ear" at approximately 2:13 a.m.

When police arrived on the scene, the victim was unresponsive and later indicated that he had no recollection of the stabbing or what had happened to him.

Police sources indicated that the stabbing took place elsewhere, and that the victim wound up in the zoo parking lot and phoned emergency officials.

"We reported to the scene originally, but the State Police took over the investigation and we haven’t heard anything from them since," said Stoneham Police Lt. Rick McCarthy.

Lewdness arrest

A Maine man was arrested after Stoneham Police reportedly found him video-taping people from his parked white van while simultaneously masturbating in the area of Main Street and Elm Street Saturday evening.

Joseph G. DiYorio, age 30, of Mont Chase, Maine, was arrested for illegal possession of a Class D substance and lewd and lascivious behavior after police received phone calls about a suspicious man in a white van in the Elm Street area. The vehicle and suspect closely resembled reports of the same activity that weekend in Arlington, Belmont and Lexington — and Stoneham Police found the male engaged in a compromising position upon arrival.

Stoneham Police then placed DiYorio under arrested on the charges — including possession of a pair of marijuana joints — and notified the neighboring towns that he was in their custody.

Stoneham Police are currently reviewing the tapes that DiYorio was making, and more charges could result from the arrest.

Arrest after chase

A Stoneham man was arrested after a lengthy police chase in the south end of Stoneham Friday night.

Michael B. Lacrosse, age 23, of 25 Maple Street, Stoneham, was arrested on a host of arrest warrants out of Burlington and Woburn as well charges out of Stoneham including failure to stop for a police officer, resisting arrest, operating under the influence of alcohol, violating the open container law, illegal possession of a dangerous weapon, defective motor vehicle equipment, and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.

Lacrosse was spotted operating a vehicle with a faulty taillight in the area of Maple Street and Lincoln Street at approximately 9:59 p.m., and was pulled over by Stoneham Police. Lacrosse immediately switched seats with his female passenger when the vehicle was pulled over, and then exited the vehicle and fled the scene. A group of Stoneham Police officers chased after the suspect and eventually found him hiding between bushes on Lincoln Street. A wrestling match ensued between police and the suspect, and he was eventually arrested after a reportedly lengthy struggle.

After his arrest, Lacrosse reportedly tore apart his cell at the Stoneham Police Station -- doing sufficient damage to also incur a charge of malicious destruction of property for his actions at the Stoneham Police Station.
