STONEHAM, MA - Stoneham Police are investigating a brazen armed robbery of Papa Gino's pizza that took place late last Wednesday night - a heist by a pair of armed gunmen that got away with nearly $1000 from both the delivery man and the pizza-makers inside.

According to the police report, a pair of black men, described as both being six-feet tall with hooded sweatshirts and one wearing a dark mask and the other a blue bandana, accosted the delivery men when he returned to the Main Street eatery at roughly 10:25 p.m. and entered the rear of the restaurant with the employee.

Both suspects reportedly brandished semi-automatic handguns and demanded money from the employees inside the closed restaurant - getting away with roughly $850 in cash from the assorted workers inside.

The two suspects then reportedly escaped through the rear of the store and hopped over the back fence, where a third suspect and a running vehicle were waiting for the duo in the parking behind the adjacent apartment complex

Papa Gino's has been victim to similar armed robbery crimes in the past, and Stoneham Police are working with other local towns to investigate the matter.

"We've sent some feelers out to the other departments for similar cases and we're investigating...it could be a case of the same individuals robbing the restaurant or word could be traveling that they're a target," said Stoneham Police Lt. Rick McCarthy. "We'll certainly be keeping an eye on that spot."
