STONEHAM, MA - A pair of Stoneham teens were arrested for marijuana possession near South School last week.
According to Stoneham Police reports, a surveillance in the southern part of town resulted in a vehicle being operated by John Kingston, age 17, of 15 Garden Road, Stoneham, with passenger Andrew Volcy, age 17, of 32 Cedarway, Stoneham, being pulled over in the area of Main Street and Summer Street at 10:38 a.m. last Tuesday morning.
Stoneham Police searched the vehicle and uncovered small amounts of marijuana on both individuals as well as in the vehicle being operated by Kingston — a circumstance that led to police charging the pair with illegal possession of a Class D substance.
The arrest was made by Officers Day and Norton.
Woburn Investigators also arrested a suspected Pento Road, Woburn OxyContin dealer and her 24-year-old Medford boyfriend last Friday after conducting surveillance on the pair for over a week.
Stefania Guarnaccia, 23, of 9 Pento Road, was arrested for various drug related offenses after Woburn Detectives reportedly spotted the woman selling OxyContin in the parking lot of a Woburn Center bank.
The 23-year-old now faces charges for Distribution of a Class B substance, possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute, violation of a drug free school zone, and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act.
Guarnaccia's boyfriend, 24-year-old Brian Williams, of 133 Saunders Street in Medford, was also arrested at the scene for conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act and two outstanding warrants.
Detective Angelo Piazza, along with other officers, nabbed the two suspected drug dealers after conducting surveillance on the pair during a joint investigation with members of the Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force.
According to police reports, investigators first learned of Guarnaccia's purported criminal enterprise from an unnamed informant, who accused the 23-year-old of selling the highly addictive prescription pain killer to customers all over the region, including in Woburn, Everett, and Malden.
Detailing the woman's illicit business activities, the informant reportedly described the Pento Road resident as purchasing anywhere from 20 to 30 OxyContin (80 milligram) pills from an unspecified source at least two to three times a day.
She would then allegedly sell the drugs for $80 each, commonly from her 2002 Honda Civic - where the 24-year-old Medford man was a regular passenger, say police.
According to police reports, after investigators arranged to have the informant make two "controlled" drug purchases, local detectives began conducting surveillance on the 23-year-old.
On Friday, investigators reportedly tailed Guarnaccia as she traveled to Main Street's Northern Bank & Trust parking lot with her boyfriend, where a 46-year-old city resident allegedly hopped into the rear seat.
Pulling around to the lot's intersection with Main and High Street, the woman then briefly stopped for a minute, let the passenger out of the 2002 Honda, and then turned onto Main Street, heading toward Montvale Avenue.
Detectives, who confronted the 46-year-old after he exited the suspected OxyContin dealer's car, later pulled the couple over on Montvale Avenue - purportedly after the alleged buyer admitted to purchasing one of the painkillers for $80.
According to police reports, Guarnaccia cooperated with police after being stopped by allegedly informing investigators where they could find her remaining stash of Oxycontin.
Nine of the painkillers were subsequently seized from the 2002 Honda, along with $280 in cash, a Nextel cell-phone, and a 100,000 volt tazer, say police.
