STONEHAM, MA - A rash of recent break-ins and robberies continued this week when a Hispanic man reportedly entered a DB Mart on Main Street armed with a machete last Saturday night, and got away with roughly $200 cash.
According to Stoneham Police reports, a Main Street convenience store employee called to report a robbery in progress at 10:46 p.m.
The worker described a 5-foot-7 Hispanic male with a grey sweatshirt with a black hooded jacket with white writing that entered the store wearing a black mask. The suspect reportedly threatened the cashier with a machete-type knife before the suspect was able to get $200 and flee from the scene on foot.
The robbery follows a string of break-ins to unsecured vehicles and construction sites over the last several weeks - where construction equipment valued in the thousands was stolen from the sites. Stoneham Police are asking anyone with details about the robberies to contact them at 781-438-1212.
